When your Instagram feed suddenly turns into a sea of selfies in fields of yellow Sunflowers you know it’s that time of year again, the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival is here!! This is one of our absolute favourite parts of Summer in Chilliwack, which is why we created a beer to celebrate it! Our NEW Sunflower Festival Witbier is handcrafted to be enjoyed after a stroll in these towering blooms. But you’ll really have to experience it for yourself…
The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival boasts ACRES of beautiful blooming Sunflower varieties. It’s truly magical, and an absolute must this Summer. So before you RUN to check out these beautiful fields, we’ve put together some tips on how to get the most from a day trip to the glorious Chilliwack Sunflower Festival and of course how to get that perfect shot for the ‘gram:
Come hungry
After a day exploring the fields you’ll have worked up an appetite, and you’re in luck because there is no lack of delicious eats here! Along with the ice cream and snacks the festival offers, the Dutchlicious food truck is set up in their parking lot and has incredible Dutch snacks and treats, including their double-fried french fries (yes, double-fried) which we HIGHLY recommend.
Dress the part
Of course, if you’re there for the gram, you gotta dress the part! You have to come prepared to get that perfect picture (which really isn’t hard to do among these beautiful fields of sunflowers). Check out the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival’s Instagram page for some serious outfit inspo. And for those of you not there for the gram, enjoy the people watching!
Photo Ops
Speaking of the gram, they have some cute little photo props set up to help assist you in getting that perfect shot. You can get your picture in front of a 1950 Morris, a vintage bike, and on one of the raised platforms set up around the fields! Our Sunflower Festival Witbier looks pretty great on their vintage bike don’t ya think??
Dahlia’s and Gladiolas Too
No, the beauty doesn’t stop at the awe-inspiring Sunflower fields they ALSO have Dahlias and, new this year, Gladiolas. You definitely don’t want to miss these two, they might have stolen the show with their vibrant colours! PLUS the Festival fields are right next to fields of our personal favourite flower, hops! You might be able to sneak a peak of them from one of the festivals raised platforms.
Gift Shop
As you head out don’t forget to stop by their gift shop! They have beautiful freshly cut Sunflowers, Dahlias, and Gladiolas to take home, or you can pick-up some Spring bulbs and create your very own Sunflower field next year. They also offer a selection of other Sunflower themed goodies and after a day in these fields, you’ll be VERY ready to decorate your house in all things Sunflower!
